TheraFlo AP
The Carilex TheraFlo AP advanced therapy support system combines innovative True Low Air Loss (LAL) technology with Alternating Pressure and Pulsation/Deep Breathing Exercise (DBE) therapies to optimize pressure injury management.
By integrating these active and reactive therapies, TheraFlo AP allows caregivers to customize treatment plans tailored to each patient’s specific needs. Ideal for both prevention and treatment, this system effectively supports patients at high to very high risk of pressure injuries, as well as those with existing stage 1 through 4 pressure ulcers.
Designed to align with your facility’s pressure injury management protocols, TheraFlo AP delivers superior pressure redistribution, microclimate control, and enhanced healing outcomes, making it a trusted solution for advanced wound care.

Theraflo’s LAL system works by continually pumping low-pressure fresh air through semi-permeable air cells to wick away moisture and heat, while maintaining stable pressure redistribution.

superior therapy, maximum comfort
The TheraFlo AP advanced therapy support surface features a unique five-zone design that delivers targeted therapy to each specific area of the patient’s body, maximizing therapeutic benefits while enhancing comfort. Supporting up to 1000 lbs, the TheraFlo AP is ideal for both prevention and healing of pressure injuries, while its advanced features—including rapid CPR deflation, integrated pressure monitoring, and multiple therapy modes—ensure maximum comfort and safety in hospital, home care, and nursing environments. Additionally, the TheraFlo AP mattress supports up to ten hours in transport mode without compromising pressure relief, making it an ideal choice for both preventative care and therapeutic management of pressure injuries.
multiple therapy zones
TheraFlo AP features a unique five-zone therapy surface that targets specific areas of the patient’s body for optimized therapy and comfort. This design differentiates support zones such as head, shoulders, sacrum, and heels to maximize therapeutic effects. The cell-in-cell construction combines 6-inch True Low Air Loss dynamic cells layered over 3-inch static air cells, ensuring effective pressure redistribution and deep patient envelopment. Also available in 7-inch and 9-inch profiles, the TheraFlo AP therapy mattress replacement system is one of the most advanced and dynamic pressure care support surfaces on the market.

Zone 1: Lower Limb Zone with Heel Guard
This zone is specifically designed to provide the lowest pressure and maximum immersion for the patient’s lower limbs. It consistently maintains reduced pressure at the heel area, which is one of the most vulnerable parts of the body for pressure injuries. The targeted low-pressure environment in this zone helps protect and prevent damage to the heels, ensuring enhanced patient safety and comfort throughout therapy.
Zone 2: Bridging Zone
The Bridging Zone offers fully customizable and individualized pressure relief precisely where the patient needs it most. Specialized air cells in this area can be easily removed and reattached, allowing caregivers to tailor offloading to specific pressure points. This targeted approach minimizes pressure in vulnerable locations, providing optimal protection and comfort. Pressure level in this zone is minimal to enhance wound healing and prevent further tissue damage.
Zone 3: Sacrum Zone
Provides maximum envelopment with added support to prevent patient “bottoming out,” ensuring consistent pressure relief at a medium pressure level.

Zone 4: Shoulder Zone
Ergonomically crafted to provide targeted support and pressure relief for the shoulders, this zone maintains a medium-low pressure level to enhance patient comfort and reduce the risk of pressure injuries.
Zone 5: Pillow Zone
Provides stabilized pressure relief specifically designed for the patient’s head, ensuring optimal comfort and reducing the risk of pressure ulcers. Maintains a low pressure level to protect delicate tissues.
the powerful theraflo ap blower
The powerful True Low Air Loss blower continuously and gently releases air to regulate the patient’s microclimate, keeping skin dry and wicking away moisture to help prevent skin maceration. This advanced moisture and temperature management supports skin integrity and reduces the risk of pressure injuries. Additionally, three distinct therapy modes give caregivers the flexibility to deliver the most effective personalized treatment for each patient’s unique needs.

three therapy Modes
TheraFlo AP pump provides three therapy modes, Static, Dynamic, and Pulsate/DBE, in addition to continuously providing true low air loss therapy.
true low air loss
Regulates the microclimate by slowly releasing air to keep skin dry and wick away moisture, aiding in prevention of skin maceration.
static Mode
Reactive continuous low pressure (CLP) therapy adjusts the air pressure in each cell based on the patient’s movement, allowing the patient to be immersed and enveloped by the support surface and minimizing pressure on the patient’s skin and subcutaneous tissue.
adjustable comfort
Adjust firmness using up and down arrows to enhance patient comfort.
pulsate with dbe Mode
Pulsation mode stimulates capillary blood flow by gently increasing and decreasing cell pressure during the programmed cycle time. DBE lifts the patient from the immersed state for 30 seconds to encourage deep breathing, then returns the patient to the prior settings for 60 seconds.
intelligent pressure sensing
Intelligent Pressure Sensing (IPS) technology automatically adjusts the internal pressure in response to patient movements to continually maximize total envelopment based on the patient load.
upright feature
Supplies increased air flow to the sacral region to prevent “bottoming out” when head of bed is raised.
quiet operation
The exceptionally low operating noise level ensures a calm, quiet environment, allowing your patients to rest comfortably.
max Inflate / auto firm
Rapidly hyper-inflates the entire mattress to allow for easier egress, turning, and lateral transfers.
easy to use interface
Intuitive operation with the easy to read faceplate and simple touch controls designed for ease of operation by caregivers.
built-in carry handle
Compact design with built-in carry handle for convenient transport.
